Infrastructure Development Spurs Strong Community

Nexus at DIA | Denver, Colorado

Land Development - Civil Engineering, Land Surveying

Nexus at DIA is a strategically located, 240-acre industrial park immediately west of Denver International Airport. The project, consisting of industrial and retail sites for national, regional, and local industrial and retail users was a much-anticipated economic driver for the area’s infrastructure development.

CORE provided a full spectrum of land surveying and civil engineering capabilities consisting of master site planning including pedestrian and bicycle trail design, arterial road design, raw water plans, water and sanitary studies, rezoning, signage and striping plans, floodplain delineation, master site planning, grading and drainage impact analysis, stormwater detention pond design, and overlot grading plans.

Because of the project’s massive scale, development occurred in phases as funds became available. CORE managed detailed phasing to facilitate ever-changing end-user applications. The project’s scale also required careful floodplain planning and design. CORE worked closely with Mile High Flood District to design two significant infrastructure components—a sub-regional detention/water quality facility and a roadway crossing of the West Fork of Second Creek—to serve the development.

CORE continues to add value to the NEXUS at DIA industrial park through its ability to provide comprehensive services in civil engineering and land surveying.
